The Fitzroy Surf Life Saving Club provides a
valuable community service through Volunteer Lifeguard Patrols. Our
entire membership is voluntary, from Patrolling members and
competitors through to our annually elected executive management
team. Youth Involvement in a character building competitive
healthy outdoor environment where the individual learns valuable
"life" skills from First Aid and Emergency Care Qualifications,
develops commitment and responsibility through dealing with safety
of other peoples lives, and personal endeavour through the
development of water and craft skills in, on and around one of
natures most forceful and inspiring environments "the Ocean".
Team Building - the ability to work and compete alongside others
and to become "a team player"
developing sportsmanship which gives the ability to "win with
grace - lose with dignity".
A Family Environment - Surf Life Saving provides activities from
the very young (ie 5 years and upwards) through to seniority. All
members of the family are welcome in the club.
